Once again autumn brings with it the promise of new beginnings and hints of the harvest to come. More and more women across the country are asking me “What do I need to know being an older woman?” Men too are contemplating their changing role as they age. Both are asking, “Who am I if I’m no longer young?” I realized the time has come for me to share what I know and have learned about aging consciously. In the coming months I hope to initiate a continuing dialogue with you that will address my view as a futurist and gerontologist in the emerging field of Conscious Aging. Our stories and our role as wisdom leaders for the 21st century needs to be voiced and shared. I’ve spent my summer editing my new book-- which organically morphed into two new books about our changing role as we grow older-- and finalizing the design of my new KarenSands.com while giving a face lift to my long time site, FutureWorksInstitute.com. All are in the final stages. September was filled with summer’s last chillin’ out: swimming in our local lakes, taking long fragrance filled country walks with my sweetheart, enjoying barbecues, and grandkids—With cooler temps., early sunsets, and ripening pumpkins here on the east coast no one wants to be inside much just yet. It’s just about time to light our home fires and ready for the harvest. If you’ve been feeling betrayed by our times, I’m told by my astrology colleagues that it’s been a challenging time for everyone for good reason. They tell me we’ve been feeling the affects of the Grand Cross and several planets gone retrograde. Apparently we should be experiencing a lift and easing up as we move further into harvest time. I’ll keep you posted when the new site launches and the books are ready to go up on Amazon. You know I’d love your feedback on both. New offerings coming up.
